Melissa & Robbie Starlite Majesty Cruise Clearwater, Florida Wedding
Set A Course For Love
Have you ever met someone, and instantly just clicked? They are just so open, and friendly–and real?
Well, that is Melissa. She is warm, gracious, and so incredibly kind. The type of person you can just “hang” with, and be yourself.
When I met Melissa about two year’s ago, her and Robbie had just gotten engaged and were beginning their wedding plans. Then surprise! They were expecting!
All plans changed.
Delaying their wedding until after their little one’s birth, gave them a reprieve from all the wedding planning chaos. And time to take some fun and precious maternity photos with me in St. Petersburg.
So, when their wedding day finally arrived, they felt more like family than clients.
We stepped aboard the elegant Starlite Majesty in Clearwater, ready to embark on their 3 hour private cruise. The Captain greeted us as we moved up the gang plank, and the staff hustled efficiently through the below decks, ensuring all preparations were complete for the upcoming celebration.
Melissa wore a classic, ivory gown from Flora’s Bridal in Brandon, with timeless pearl accents. Robbie looked devilishly handsome in his navy suit, with an intimate detail. A tie pin belonging to his late Father.
The couple exchanged their vows mid-ship, in a touching ceremony officiated by the groom’s Uncle. After their “I Do’s” and first kiss as husband and wife, we climbed top side to capture some portraits despite the increasing winds.
From there we were ushered below decks, which had been transformed into an elegant reception area. Mirror lined walls reflected the natural light, keeping the interior bright and cheerful. Guests were treated to amazing views of Clearwater’s shoreline and waterway’s as we cruised along.
Did I mention the sound track? Oh my gosh, Melissa had the BEST music playing! Who does not looove the Smashing Pumpkins?? Tegan, my second shooter and I, were singing aloud with guests to all the great selections.
Before we knew it, the journey was over and we had entered port. We began to prepare to disembark.
But, Mother Nature had other plans.
A severe storm blew in, with high winds and the possibility of a tornado. I am talking sideways blowing, pelting rains. For safety reasons, all guests had to remain on-board until the warning cleared. I must commend the Captain and staff of the Starlite Majesty who remained calm and orderly to assure all guests were comfortable and soothed during the process.
Typical to Florida, the storm blew out as quickly as it had blown in. And our time aboard the Majesty had ended.
Melissa & Robbie, I wish you smooth sailing, and all the happiness and joy you can find. I am honored to have shared in your Wedding Day, and privileged to call you friends.
XO
