Morgan + Dominic Fall Engagement Quanicassee Wildlife area Bay City, Michigan
Ahhh Fall in Michigan.
Where the smell of apples, cinnamon and fresh cut hay mix with the curls of smoke from wood fires floating along on the crisp breeze. Fields of orange pumpkins and muted yellow soybeans stand alongside acres of golden corn. Deer begin to herd and birds to flock for their long flight to the South. Trees still clad in their summer leaves begin to turn into their Autumn splendor of blazing reds, oranges and yellows.
For me it was coming home.
I grew up in Michigan and most of my family still reside there. Actually, that is how I met this beautiful couple. They are close friends with my niece Ashley and when it came time to look for a Wedding photographer she contacted me. Being able to shoot all over the US is wonderful and I love discovering new places, but coming home is always the best.
Morgan and Dominic wanted a Fall engagement session. I scouted out places on line and came up with the Qaunicassee Wildlife area. Funny thing, this is where Ashley had in mind as well. They say great minds think alike right?
We met Monday night for their session and I knew right away it was going to be awesome. Morgan and Dominic are not only adorable and extremely photogenic, they are full of love, laughter and have a great sense of adventure. We took two Jeeps out to our session area and may have had to put it into four wheel drive when the clay road was kinda washed out but, hey we made it. When I said I wanted to put them out in a muddy field, they had no problem what so ever. Fist pump. I KNEW they were my kind of couple.
Morgan and Dominic have known one another since attending Garber High School, although they lost touch and did not connect again till Dominic’s senior year in College.
Dominic attended Concordia University and Saginaw Valley University and has his degree in Sports Management and Education. He currently works as a Physical Education teacher at Akron-Fairgrove.
Morgan attended Delta College and Northwood University and has her degree in Business Management. She currently works as a cosmetologist. She does ah-mazing work y’all.
Together they have an adorable Golden Doodle named Ziggy who is their best friend and constant companion, along with 3 kitties named Leia, Boots and Stella. They all came as a package deal and get along wonderfully.
They both enjoy Craft Beer, travelling (Up North for all those Michigander’s) and sports. A weekend together may be a quick get away Up North, camping or visiting new places. No matter what they do, they have this absolute love of adventure and life!
When I asked them “how” they knew he/she was the one? Morgan had a long answer detailing all of the heroic ways Dominic had saved her or helped her out in one situation or another. From lost car keys buried in a snow bank, to an on the loose bat in her house, he has always been her knight in shining armor and came to her rescue. His kind and caring heart won hers over. Now Dominic’s answer had me laughing. He knew she was the one when she could hang like one of the boys.
Truthfully, these two are best friends. They compliment one another and have this easy way about them that makes you feel all warm inside. You can see the love and respect they have just by watching. Morgan has this million watt smile that just dazzles you. She is the beautiful heroine from every love story.
And Dominic is so adorable. I literally stood back and watched when he started picking the burrs off Morgan from our romp in the weeds and fields. No prompting. He automatically wanted to care and protect her. Now, that is a knight in shining armor, Heathcliff, Mr. Darcy and James Fraser all in one. And they are so lucky to have found one another.
So, here’s to Morgan and Dominic.
I hope you enjoy a few images from their awesome Fall engagement session.
